Delivering and securing the website

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. As part of handling a request, its infrastructure receives technical information such as your IP address and browser information to deliver content and help protect the service. These essential operations are separate from the optional audience measurement described below.

Optional audience measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics only after you choose “Allow analytics”. The same choice applies to visitors from all countries, including the European Union. Declining does not affect access to the website.

After permission, Cloudflare measures page visits and loading performance. Measurements can include the page address, referring website, browser and device type, approximate country and performance timings. We use aggregate reports to understand which projects are viewed and how well the website works. Please avoid including personal information in page addresses.

Cloudflare states that its analytics service does not use tracking cookies or browser fingerprinting, and discards request IP addresses at its edge before storing analytics measurements. Our reports do not identify visitors by name. The analytics service may process information in a different country from the visitor, including outside the European Economic Area.

Read more in Cloudflare’s measurement documentation and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Your choice

We remember your decision for up to six months in a first-party preference cookie named piknik_analytics_choice. It contains only the preference version and “accepted” or “declined”; it does not contain a visitor identifier. This preference is shared between piknik.works and www.piknik.works.

You can change or withdraw permission at any time through “Privacy & analytics” at the bottom of a page. Withdrawing permission stops optional measurement on subsequent page loads and reloads the current page to stop its measurement script. It does not undo measurements already sent with permission. If you clear cookies or use a different browser, we will ask again.
